Nicholas Jonsson is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jonsson Workwear, a leading workwear company in Southern Africa. Under his leadership, the company has grown to employ nearly 3,000 people across the region. Jonsson Workwear designs, manufactures, and supplies high-quality, durable garments to both local and international markets, operating in countries such as South Africa, Lesotho, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
Born in Durban, Nicholas was educated at Michaelhouse and continues to reside in his hometown with his wife, Celeste, and their two children, Olivia and Luke. He is deeply committed to the development of his community and the broader KwaZulu-Natal region. Beyond his business endeavours, Nicholas is a Fellow of the seventh class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Nicholas is also known for his involvement in various philanthropic activities. For over two decades, Jonsson Workwear has supported “Rally to Read,” an initiative aimed at improving literacy in rural South African schools. In 2024, during the Jonsson Workwear Open golf tournament, the company raised R262,000 for this cause.
Under Nicholas’s guidance, Jonsson Workwear has expanded its influence into sports sponsorships, including partnerships with rugby teams like the Cell C Sharks and the Emirates Lions, as well as involvement in golf tournaments. These initiatives reflect his commitment to community engagement and support for South African sports.
